The 7 Dragon Balls.
The Dragon Balls are mystical crystalline spheres that feature between 1 and 7 five-pointed stars inside of them. Individually, they have no powers. When gathered, they have the ability to call forth Shenron who will grant the player one wish.

Dragon Balls, being exactly one tile large and scarce, are very difficult to find without aid.
Spawning[ | ]
The world will always have 7 Dragon Balls in it. Once a Dragon Ball is collected by a player, it will respawn somewhere else (though typically not in the Jungle Temple) instantly. They are most often found underground due to the larger floor area, though it isn't impossible for one to appear on the surface or above.
On world creation, Grandpa Gohan's house may have the 4 Star Dragon Ball along with a note instructing the player to gather the rest.
Searching aids[ | ]
The main tools for finding Dragon Balls are Dragon Radars, available initially from the Mechanic and upgradeable over the course of the game. While a Dragon Radar is held, an arrow will appear over the player's head, pointing them to the nearest Dragon Ball not in their inventory (personal storage is not considered). Once the player enters a minimum range from the Dragon Ball, the arrow will begin spinning due to the Radar being overloaded. It will not lose precision as the player gets closer, so periodically leaving the overloading range may be helpful to narrow down the Dragon Ball's position. Upgrading the Dragon Radar allows the player to get closer to the Dragon Ball without overloading the Radar.
Additionally, the Spelunker buff highlights Dragon Balls, making them easier to find randomly or once the Dragon Radar is overloaded.
Usage[ | ]
When all 7 Dragon Balls have been found, they must be placed inside a player's inventory, but not their hotbar. Pressing ⚷ Open / Activate on any of the Dragon Balls in the player's inventory will summon Shenron, indicated by the background turning black. A menu will then prompt the player to make one of 5 wishes.

After making a wish, the Dragon Balls will disappear from the player's inventory and must be recollected to make another wish.
Notes[ | ]
- Due to how Dragon Balls are spawned, it is possible to acquire duplicates. Since summoning Shenron requires 7 unique Dragon Balls (i.e. one of each), duplicates are functionally useless.
- To avoid collecting duplicate Dragon Balls, do not place any of them in any type of storage. The Dragon Radar only points to Dragon Balls not already in the player's inventory.

- Dragon Balls can only be used once per year.
- If the player wished to replicate this behavior in Terraria for whatever reason, they would have to wait approximately 146 real-life hours between wishes (when defining "a year" as exactly 365 days). If the player wished to sleep in a bed through the "cooldown", it would instead take 29 hours and 12 minutes. The time can be further lowered to 25 hours and 2 minutes if either the Enchanted Sundial or Enchanted Moondial are used every 7 days, or as low as 20 hours and 52 minutes when optimally using both.
- The Dragon Balls were the reason Vegeta and Nappa came to Earth: after overhearing Piccolo tell Raditz about the Dragon Balls, they arrived on Earth to wish for immortality.
- In the Dragon Ball series, you can only use Dragon Balls as long as their creator is alive.
- Only the Namekians of the Dragon Clan can create Dragon Balls.
- Dende was able to grant Shenron the ability to grant 3 wishes, or only two if one was used to resurrect a large number of people.
