Flight (demo)

Flight in action.

Flight is a movement technique that allows the player to ascend and accelerate through the air at the cost of Ki.

Usage[ | ]

Once it is unlocked, the player may begin flying with by pressing Flight at any point when they have Ki and sustain it until they run out of Ki or deactivate it manually. Inputting any direction will make the character fly towards that direction. Additionally, holding Energy Charge while flying will increase the player's speed.

By default, flight drains 240 Ki/s, or 300 Ki/s while boosting. This can be reduced via equipment or a consumable upgrade.

The player flies horizontally at 25 mph, which is increased to 48 mph while boosting. This speed is affected by buffs, transformations and specific equipment.

Equipment[ | ]

Armor and accessories can provide extra flight speed and/or reduce the associated Ki drain. All values listed are approximate for readability.

Cost reduction[ | ]

Equipment that lists "Reduced flight Ki usage" as an effect decreases flight drain by two thirds. When muptiple are equipped, they stack multiplicatively. For example, if a player that has not used Fugam Arriperent equips three items that reduce flight drain, their new flight drain will be approximately 240 x (1/3)^3 = 10.

Indirectly, equipment that grants Ki regeneration will reduce the drain required by flight. Stacking enough Ki regeneration and flight cost reduction allows a net gain of Ki per tick while flying, allowing it to be sustained indefinitely.

Speed increase[ | ]

Flight speed increases from equipment are additive to both regular flight and boosted flight.

Flight speed increasing equipment
Item Speed increase
Earthen ScarabEarthen Scarab 4 mph
Earthen ArcaniumEarthen Arcanium 4 mph
Radiant VisorRadiant Visor 13 mph

Unlocking[ | ]

To unlock flight, players must craft and consume the first Bukuujutsu Guide, Chorus Aeria.

Permanent power-ups[ | ]

There are currently two other Bukuujutsu Guides that augment flight.

Lux Ruinam[ | ]

After consuming Lux Ruinam, the player will gain the Katchin Feet buff for 10 seconds after flight is deactivated, which grants fall damage immunity.

Fugam Arriperent[ | ]

Once Fugam Arriperent has been consumed, the flight drain is reduced to 20 Ki/s, and boosting does not impair an additional cost.
