This is a guide to help with progression in the DBT (Dragon Ball Terraria) mod.
This guide assumes you understand the progression of vanilla Terraria and will not detail progression outside of the DBT mod.
When you spawn in, Grandpa Gohan's house will be on your left. There will be a 4-star dragon ball Dragon Ball on the dresser. grab it, You also start with an Empty Necklace, which is used in later crafting recipes. To start off, build enough housing and meet the requirements for the Merchant to move in, as he now sells Scrap Metal. This is a crafting material needed to build the Z-Table and other items. Now you need to farm a bit of Stable Ki Crystals, a crafting material dropped by enemies in the Forest, Tundra, and Desert. While you are doing this, keep an eye out for the arrival of the Traveling Merchant, as he sells the Arm Cannon and the MRE consumable. While underground, keep an eye out for the Skeleton Merchant, as he now sells the Disgusting Goop consumable.
Once you have gathered enough materials, start your crafting.
Using the Bukuujutsu Guide will grant the player Flight.
Once you have crafted and upgraded everything you need, it's time to summon the following bosses:
- The King Slime by using the Slime Crown (optional)
- The Eye of Cthulhu by using the Suspicious Looking Eye at night
It is advised to farm the Eye of Cthulhu until you have the following items:
Congratulations. The King Slime and the Eye of Cthulhu are now defeated.
Using the Kaioken item will grant the player the first stage of Kaioken.
You may have noticed that bosses can drop Senzu Beans, and as tempting as it is, do not use these just yet. Also, if you farmed the Eye of Cthulhu like suggested, craft the following item, as it can be utilized in arena setups for bosses and events.

Once you have crafted and upgraded everything you need, it's time to summon the following boss:
- The Eater of Worlds by using the Worm Food or by breaking three Shadow Orbs in the Corruption
or
- The Brain of Cthulhu by using the Bloody Spine or by breaking three Crimson Hearts in the Crimson
It is advised to farm the Eater of Worlds/Brain of Cthulhu until you have the following item:
Congratulations. The Eater of Worlds/Brain of Cthulhu is now defeated.
Using the Kaioken x3 item will grant the player the second stage of Kaioken.
With the defeat of the Eater of Worlds/Brain of Cthulhu, new crafting materials are now obtainable. Calm Ki Crystals will now begin dropping from enemies on the Jungles surface. Earthen Shards will now begin dropping from all enemies. Meteors will now begin to land and the Goblin Army can now spawn naturally, if the player destroyed at least one Shadow Orb or Crimson Heart, or forced to spawn with the Goblin Battle Standard.
Once you have gathered enough materials, start your crafting.

Now, it's time to hunt down a few items. If the Goblin Army arrives at any time during getting these items, immediately head back and participate in the event. If you are lucky, these enemies will drop a Goblin Ki Enhancer. Once a meteor has landed, go ahead and hunt that down. When you find it, start killing the Meteor Heads until they drop a Burning Energy Amulet. After that, head to the Underground Tundra and kill Ice Slimes, Ice Bats, and Spiked Ice Slimes until they drop an Ice Energy Talisman. If the Goblin Army hasn't arrived yet, start looking for Goblin Scouts near the edges of the world.
Once you have crafted and upgraded everything you need, it's time to summon the following boss:
- The Queen Bee by using the Abeemination or by breaking the Larva in the Underground Jungle.
It is advised to farm the Queen Bee until you have the following item:
Congratulations. The Queen Bee is now defeated.
Using the Kaioken x4 item will grant the player the third stage of Kaioken.
With the defeat of the Queen Bee, a new crafting material is now obtainable. Astral Essentia will now begin dropping from Harpies in Space.
Once you have gathered enough materials, start your crafting.

Once you have crafted and upgraded everything you need, it's time to summon the following boss:
It is advised to farm the Skeletron until you have the following items:
Congratulations. Skeletron is now defeated.
Using the Kaioken x10 item will grant the player the fourth stage of Kaioken.
From this point forward, every time a player is killed by a boss, there is a 5% they will become Super Saiyan 1. By the fourth death, there is a 100% chance.
With the defeat of Skeletron, new crafting materials are now obtainable. Prideful Ki Crystals will now begin dropping from enemies in the Underworld. Skeletal Essences will now begin dropping from enemies in the Dungeon. While in town, make sure to add housing for the Clothier, as he now sells Green Potaras, the Dryad, as she now sells Blood Thief during a Blood Moon, and the Mechanic, as she now sells the Dragon Radar MK1.
Once you have gathered enough materials, start your crafting.

Now, it's time to hunt down an item. Head underground into the Granite Caves and kill Granite Golems until they drop the Baldur Essentia.
Once you have crafted and upgraded everything you need, it's time to summon the following boss:
- Deerclops using the Deer Thing in the Tundra (optional)
Congratulations. Deerclops is now defeated.
Once you have crafted and upgraded everything you need, it's time to summon the following boss:
- The Wall of Flesh by tossing the Guide Voodoo Doll into lava in the Underworld
It is advised to farm the Wall of Flesh until you have the following items:
Congratulations. The Wall of Flesh is now defeated. Welcome to Hardmode.
Using the Kaioken x20 item will grant the player the fifth and final stage of Kaioken. Using the I.T. Tome will grant the player Instant Transmission.
With the defeat of the Wall of Flesh, a new crafting material is now obtainable. Angerful Ki Crystals will now begin dropping from enemies in the Corruption or the Crimson.
Once you have gathered enough materials, start your crafting.
Now, it's time to hunt down an item. Head over to the Corruption or Crimson and farm Hardmode enemies until they drop the Bloodstained Bandana.
Once you have crafted and upgraded everything you need, it's time to summon the following boss:
- The Queen Slime by using the Gelatin Crystal in the Hallow (optional)
Congratulations. The Queen Slime is now defeated.
Once you have crafted and upgraded everything you need, it's time to summon the following bosses: (You can craft new gear between each fight to make the next fight easier)
- The Twins by using the Mechanical Eye at night
- The Destroyer by using the Mechanical Worm at night
- Skeletron Prime by using the Mechanical Skull at night
It is advised to farm Skeletron Prime until you have the following item:
Congratulations. The Mechanical bosses are now defeated.
With the defeat of the Mechanical bosses, a new crafting material is now obtainable. Soul of Entity will now begin dropping from Possessed Armor on the surface at night and underground at anytime, Enchanted Sword in the Underground Hallow, Cursed Hammer in the Underground Corruption, and Crimson Axe in the Underground Crimson. While in town, make sure to add housing for the Steampunker, as she now sells the Luminous Sectum.
Once you have gathered enough materials, start your crafting.

Once you have crafted and upgraded everything you need, it's time to summon the following boss:
- Plantera by breaking Plantera's Bulb in the Underground Jungle
It is advised to farm Plantera until you have the following item:
Congratulations. Plantera is now defeated.
With the defeat of Plantera, a new crafting material is now obtainable. Pure Ki Crystals will now begin dropping from enemies in the Glowing Mushroom Fields.
Once you have gathered enough materials, start your crafting.
Once you have crafted and upgraded everything you need, it's time to summon the following boss:
- The Golem by using a Lihzahrd Power Cell at the Lihzahrd Altar in the Jungle Temple
Congratulations. The Golem is now defeated.
With the defeat of the Golem, a new crafting material is now obtainable. Demonic Souls will now begin dropping from Demons in the Underworld.
Once you have gathered enough materials, start your crafting.

Once you have crafted and upgraded everything you need, it's time to summon the following boss:
- Duke Fishron by fishing in the Ocean using a Truffle Worm as bait
It is advised to farm Duke Fishron until you have following item:

Once you have gathered enough materials, start your crafting.

Once you have crafted and upgraded everything you need, it's time to summon the following boss:
- The Empress of Light by killing a Prismatic Lacewing in the Hallow at night (optional)
Congratulations. The Empress of Light is now defeated.
This last section will be a series of battles. With that in mind, all crafting will be mentioned at the end of this section
Once you have crafted and upgraded everything you need, it's time to summon the following boss:
- The Lunatic Cultist by killing the Cultists at the Dungeon's entrance.
It is advised to farm the Lunatic Cultist until you have the following items:
- Master Ki Fragment
- Metamoran Sash (Expert Mode)
Congratulations. The Lunatic Cultist is now defeated.
Defeating the Lunatic Cultist automatically initiates the Lunar Events.
Radiant Fragments will now begin dropping from the Celestial Pillars during the Lunar Events.
Congratulations. The Celestial Pillars are now defeated.
Defeating all the Celestial Pillars during the Lunar Events automatically initiates the fight against the Moon Lord. The Moon Lord can also be summoned by using the Celestial Sigil.
Congratulations. The Moon Lord is now defeated.
Once you have gathered enough materials, start your crafting.
Now, it's time to hunt down a few items. Head anywhere on the surface at night and kill Majin Slimes for the Majin Nucleus and Majin Zombies for the Candy Laser.
