Scouters are craftable equipment that can be equipped either as an accessory or a helmet. When equipped, the player gains extra Ki damage and the Hunter effect.
There are currently 5 variants of Scouter.

Green Scouter[ | ]
The Green Scouter is the first Scouter the player can acquire. It is craftable at a Z-Table as soon as either the Eater of Worlds or Brain of Cthulhu have been defeated, granting 5% Ki damage once equipped, in addition to the Hunter effect.

Blue Scouter[ | ]
40 The Blue Scouter is the second Scouter the player can acquire. It is a straight upgrade from the Green Scouter, providing 8% Ki damage and the Hunter effect.

Red Scouter[ | ]
The Red Scouter is the third Scouter the player can acquire. It is a straight upgrade from the Blue Scouter, providing 12% Ki damage and the Hunter effect.

The Purple Scouter is the fourth Scouter the player can acquire. It is a straight upgrade from the Red Scouter, providing 15% Ki damage and the Hunter effect.

Notes[ | ]
- Two copies of a single variant of Scouter cannot be equipped in the armor and accessory slots at the same time (for instance, the Green Scouter cannot be double-equipped as a helmet and accessory). Different Scouter variants do not have this limitation.
- Since most Ki armor sets are composed of only a body piece and a legs piece, the helmet slot is open for a Scouter for most of the game.
- The Hardmode ore armors with the corresponding Ki helmets grant more damage than the Red Scouter. Due to the lack of specialized Ki armor at that stage of the game, it may be preferred to unequip the Scouter or use it as an accessory.
- Radiant Armor, due to having a helmet and being the final and most powerful specialized Ki armor in the mod, permanently replaces the Scouter's place in the helmet slot.
